Olympiacos is in advanced negotiations with Bulgarian forward Sasha Vezenkov according to Eurohoops sources. A definite deal between the two sides for a multi-year contract could be finalized in the next hours (11/7).

If Vezenkov signs with Olympiacos then he won’t occupy a foreign player’s spot on the roster of the Reds since he’s a holder of a Greek passport. The player has been a free agent since he parted ways with Barcelona earlier in July after spending of three previous seasons with the Blaugrana.

After finishing the 2016-2017 season with 7.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 18 minutes per game and getting picked by the Brooklyn Nets with the 57th overall pick in the Draft, the Bulgarian player saw his playing time getting decreased this past season, spending 11:41 minutes on the court in 13 EuroLeague games and posting 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.

Vezenkov could play at both the “3” and “4” positions, where there is a vacancy on the lineup of Olympiacos following Ioannis Papapetrou’s departure from the team to sign with Panathinaikos.
