CSKA Moscow prevailed over Khimki with an 88-74 victory for round 12 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The hosts improve to a 10-2 record and remain in the Top 4 teams of the standings.

It was a special night for Nando De Colo, who became the team’s second all-time scorer just in his fifth season with the club. The French guard posted 10 points tonight (along with three assists and two rebounds), surpassing Viktor Khryapa’s previous record of 2,160 points. JR Holden remains first with 5,393 points.

Other than that, Daniel Hackett posted a team-high of 14 points, while Sergio Rodriguez added 12 points and five assists.

CSKA remained in charge of the game in its entirety with a key defense in the third period. Stefan Markovic (16 p.) and Malcolm Thomas (15 p.) tried to save the day for Khimki in the last quarter, but now the team falls further down the standings with 4-8.

Giorgos Bartzokas’ team will have to wait for this injury-plagued period to pass in order to be reinforced with Alexey Shved and Anthony Gill that remain away from action.

“It as obvious they were missing Shved and Gill, which is a big part of their game. But I think that we played also with some significant players out last season and nobody was feeling pity for us”, mentioned Dimitris Itoudis in his post-game quotes.
