Jordan Mickey saved Khimki from suicide loss to Darussafaka

Jordan Mickey scored 2/2 from the line with a second remaining to hand Khimki Moscow an 85 – 84 win over Darussafaka Tekfen for Round 14 of the EuroLeague regular season.

This pair of free throws basically prevented what would’ve been a “suicide” by Khimki. The Russian team was up 83 – 75 with a minute remaining but Dacka implemented immense pressure all over the court to force consecutive turnovers by Khimki’s top scorer Dee Bost (EuroLeague career-high 19 points) and eventually get an 83 – 84 lead after a layup by Jeremy Evans with 13 seconds left.

Mickey then received the ball, ran the floor and drove to the hoop to win the foul that got him to the line. His shots gave Khimki (that is still minus Alexey Shved and Anthony Gill) the first victory after three losses and fifth overall in the season.

While Mickey finished with 15 points, same as Andrey Zubkov who also had eight rebounds. Ray McCallum scored 13 points while Toney Douglas had 12 points and six assists for Dacka that is 1-13.
