Following Leo Westermann’s knee injury during Thursday morning’s practice, Zalgiris communicated that the 26-year-old French point guard will be sidelined for four to six weeks. He hurt his knee in the last practice in Lithuania before his team’s departure to Spain ahead of its EuroLeague Regular Season Round 15 game with Herbalife Gran Canaria.
Westermann had played in all 14 EuroLeague matches this season averaging 6.4 points, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game. He sank 47.2% of his shots beyond the arc. In fourteen 2018-19 LKL matches he has 6.1 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds.
Paulius Jankunas and Antanas Kavaliauskas will also miss Sarunas Jasikevicius team’s away game with Gran Canaria. However, Nate Wolters will return to action and the rest of his teammates will also be available.
