Alex Tyus displeased with Maccabi playing two Israeli League games before key EuroLeague match

Maccabi Tel Aviv will have to give two Israeli League in two days games prior to facing Bayern Munich on the road next Thursday (7/3) in a potentially crucial EuroLeague match in the race for the playoffs. And that’s something Maccabi center Alex Tyus isn’t exactly happy about.

“The Israeli League keeps giving us two games before EuroLeague. I don’t know whether they are doing that in any other country. I never had to do that. That’s unfortunate. But we just have to be focused on these games and not think too far ahead,” Tyus said after his team’s win over Darussafaka, per Sports Rabbi.

Maccabi guard DeAndre Kane was far from excited with playing this number of games in such a short timespan.

“It’s really important. But… I think that we are playing too many Israeli League games in this time period where we have important EuroLeague games. That’s how the league is and it’s OK I guess,” Kane mentioned.
