Barcelona beat Gran Canaria and hunts Efes

After a close first half, Barcelona had a monstrous 23-2 run from the middle of the third period until the start of the last quarter and built a 70-46 lead on the way to the easy 93-64 win over

With the winners making 19 threes out of 28 attempts for a 67,9% efficiency, the guests never really had a chance. The 19 made threes are a club record for the Catalans.

Chris Singleton with 16 points and Kevin Pangos with 19 points led the charge, Kyle Kuric added 14 points on 5/5 FG and when all was said and done Barcelona climbed to a 16-11 record, one win behind Anadolu Efes.

Considering the fact that the Turks have the tie-breaker, Barcelona still needs to finish the regular season with a win over them in order to get the home court advantage and with three games left, this remains a mathematical possibility.

DJ Strawberry with 15 points was Gran Canaria’s top scorer but neither he or any of his teammates were a factor in the game when Barcelona made its run. Still, in the first half, Gran Canaria was only trailing by three (38-35) and everything seemed possible.

Alas for them, the second half was an onslaught with a partial score of 55-29 in favor of Barcelona.
