Maccabi Tel Aviv is in advanced negotiations with Israeli forward Omri Casspi according to Sport 5. The “Yellows” are looking to make a big signing in the 2019 offseason and the club is working towards Casspi’s return to the team after 2009.

Per Sport 5’s report, Maccabi is “accelerating” the negotiations with Casspi in light of Milos Teodosic choosing to sign with Virtus Bologna. The Israeli side has been in contract with Casspi these past months and Fox, the club’s main sponsor, is willing to cover a part of the player’s contract.

According to Eurohoops sources, Casspi’s priority is to find an NBA deal. He has been a free agent since the Memphis Grizzlies waived him in February.

Casspi, 31, played for Maccabi from 2005 to 2009 (minus 2006-2007 when he was loaned to Hapoel Galil) before joining the Sacramento Kings to begin his NBA career. He has averaged 7.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists in 20.3 minutes over 588 NBA games with the Kings, Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and the Grizzlies.
