Ben Bentil inked a two-year contract with Panathinaikos OPAP, the Greek team announced on Wednesday. Eurohoops previously reported the agreement between the two sides.

“It is a big honor and a blessing for me to play for such a big club with the history and success of Panathinaikos” the 24-year-old Ghanaian center initially said in his first interview as a member of the Greens.

“It is a big step for my career and the truth is that I can not wait to put on the team’s jersey. I can not wait to face the best bigs of Europe and learn from my teammates” he added.

Bentil also touched on him following Argyris Pedoulakis from Peristeri to Panathinaikos: “It is very important that Argyris Pedoulakis will remain my head coach this year as well. I learned a lot from him and improved as a player.”

Last year in the Greek Basket League, he averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest. The Providence alumni, 51st pick of the 2016 NBA draft and former Dallas Mavericks player, has also played professionally in China, France and Spain, but is now set for his debut EuroLeague season.
