With Stratos Perperoglou and Alexander Vezenkov making a great performance, Barcelona beat Malaga 80-62 and claimed the Supercopa.

Αfter three years, during which Real Madrid was dominant, Barcelona won the sixth Supercopa of its history. The Catalans beat Unicaja Malaga in the Final of the competition, which took place in Malaga’s “Martin Carpena”, and earned the first trophy of the season.

Malaga made a better start to the game (14-9), as Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored seven of the team’s 14 points, but the “Blaugrana” quickly reversed the situation. A 13-0 run let Xavi Pascual’s squad take a seven -point advantage (15-22), as Barcelona had 5/9 from the three-point range, while Malaga had 11/32 field goals in the first half.

However, Juan Plaza’s players grabbed many offensive rebounds (eight) and forced Barcelona to make mistakes (nine until the half-time), so they managed to stay close to their opponents after the first 20 minutes (31-37).

In the second half, Perperoglou and Vezenkov scored 15 of the team’s 20 points in the third period, as Barcelona took a double-digit lead and never looked back (43-57, 43-62). In the final minutes, Barcelona simply retained the lead and easily claimed the trophy.
