Loukas Mavrokefalidis and AEK lost to Red October by a bucket after overtime, but Lukas Mavrokefalidis with a 55 points ranking tied the Eurocup record, which belongs also to Priest Lauderdale who played at the time for Lukoil Academic (11/11/2003 against KK Zagreb in a game that had three overtimes).

Mavrokefalidis finished the game with 42 points and 9 rebounds, 12/18 2p., 2/2 3p., 12/15 FT, 4 steals and 11 foul won. No other player of AEK has scored more than him in one game. The previous record belonged to Nikos Chatzis who scored 37 points on the 2nd of December 2004 against Maccabi in a Euroleague game.

The best ever offensive performance in Eurocup was registered by Randy Duck (Brighton Bears) and it’s 49 pts vs. Cholet Basket in 2003–04 season. Bobby Brown (Alba Berlin) scored 44 pts vs. KK Bosna in 2007–08 season and Mire Chatman (Besiktas) had 43 pts vs Hemofarm in 2010–11 season.

In Euroleague since 2000 the record is 41 points and it’s shared by Bobby Brown (Siena) vs Fenerbahce in 2013, Kaspars Kambala (Anadolu Efes) vs Barcelona in 2003, Carlton Myers of Paf Bologna (2001) vs Real and Alphonso Ford of Peristeri BC (2001) vs Tau.
