Once again CSKA Moscow is a title contender and proved it the best possible way against Maccabi Tel Aviv. In a game in which the Israelis played with black ribbons on their jersey, mourning for the death of Nate Huffman, CSKA got the easy 100-69 win.

Practically the first half decided the outcome, as the hosts got a comfortable 44-29 lead. The duo of Nando De Colo and Milos Teodosic had one more amazing game and despite the hard competition from other Euroleague stars, they are already candidates for being the best backcourt duo in the league.

The Frenchman had 17 points after 20 minutes of action and Milos needed five seconds less than 19 minutes in order to score 15 points and dish also five assists. The third guard in the team’s rotation, Aaron Jackson, also contributed 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. What’s also important is that they did it against an also great backcourt duo, the former NBAer Jordan Farmar (17 p.) and last season’s Euroleague top scorer Taylor Rochestie (13 p.).

CSKA led by 25 points at the end of the third quarter (73-48) and the only question until the end of the game was if Maccabi could make the final score a bit more flattering for them. At the end the couldn’t and their only bright spot was the 7 points scored by Croatian prospect Dragan Bender
