With James Feldeine hitting a big three-pointer, with 11 seconds to go, Panathinaikos prevailed over Malaga at home (68-66). This was the first win for the Greens in group E (1-1), whereas the Spaniards suffered their first defeat (1-1).

For the winners, Dimitris Diamantidis scored 17 points and dished out seven assists. On the other hand, Jamar Smith was tremendous with 22 points for the losing squad.

In the beginning, the match was close, as no team could take a significant advantage (7-8, 13-13, 17-14), with Panathinaikos ending the first quarter in front by four points (21-17). Later, things didn’t change much, as the hosts extended their lead to seven points (31-24), but the Spaniards managed to remain competitive and ended the first half with a four-point deficit (37-33).

In the second half, the Greeks enhanced their overall performance and claimed a nine-point advantage (48-39), behind an 11-6 run. However, Malaga responded immediately and went on a 16-10 run, being down by just three, after 30 minutes in the game (58-55). In the last quarter, the visitors made a 9-3 run to earn a three-point lead (61-64), but Sasa Djordjevic’s players immediately tied the game (64-64). At the end, Feldeine hit a big three-pointer, with 11 seconds to go, and gave his team the big victory (68-66), as Smith missed the three-pointer at the buzzer.
