In Eurocup Last 32 round 5’s lone game on Tuesday, a 5-19 run in the second quarter was enough for Pinar Karsiyaka to prevail over Trabzonspor 43-76 on the road. This was the second win for the visitors in group K (2-3), whereas the hosts suffered their third defeat (2-3).
For the winners, Colton Iverson had 14 points and eight rebounds, with Lazeric Jones adding 13 points, on 5 for 6 shooting. On the other hand, both Damian Kulig and Andrija Stipanovic scored 10 points for the losing squad.
Although both teams made a good start to the game (15-16), Karsiyaka quickly took over and went on a 5-19 run to earn a double-digit advantage at the end of the first half (20-35) and never look back.
In the second half, the visitors continued to be dominant and outscored their opponents 9-19 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 25 points (29-54). Later, things didn’t change much, as the hosts were playing very badly on both ends of the floor, and, consequently, Karsiyaka claimed an easy win in the Turkish derby.
