Key victories for Le Mans and Nanterre

Two days before the big game between Monaco and Strasbourg, most of the favorites prevailed with style against their opponents in the French Pro A.

It was considered to be a derby, of sorts, but Le Mans (15-7) transformed the road game against Gravelines-Dunkerque (15-7) into a walk through the park, taking a decisive victory. Being significantly better during the second half, coach Kunter’s players built a 20 point lead in the mid of the third quarter with a 0-14 run, making their intentions quite clear to everyone. Especially to their opponents who never recovered after this destructive period. The two teams have identical records, but Le Mans is fourth in the standings thanks to its tie – breaking advantage.

The players of Nanterre (14-8) shot the ball too well for their guests too handle, considering the fact that Limoges (10-12) wasn’t even close to their hosts’ accuracy. While the Limougeauds gathered seven more offensive rebounds, they also had seven more turnovers, which hurt them in the end. Now the reigning champions are close to missing the train of the playoffs, unless something changes drastically.

At the same time, Orthez (14-8) continued moving upwards, while Chalon-Reims (9-13) had a splendid offensive show of 10/19 three-pointers and 25 assists to cruise through Le Havre (1-21).
