Barcelona on top, Murcia and Fuenlabrada in the playoffs

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

It was thrilling until the end with Barcelona, Murcia and Fuenlabrada being the big winners of the last regular season round in Liga Endesa and Bilbao missing in the last play the chance to be in the playoffs.

Barcelona “locked” the top by destroying Iberostar Tenerife (93-58), Murcia secured the 7th spot by beating Fuenlabrada on the road (73-61), but the losing team made it to the playoffs because both Tenerife and Bilbao were defeated. To be exact Bilbao was beaten at home by Zaragoza (73-72) and lost the chance to “steal” from Fuenlabrada the last playoffs spot in what tourned out to be the last game in the career of former NBA player Raul Lopez.

Ηowever the shot that decided the outcome and left Bilbao out was more than amazing…

The playoffs couples are the following: Barcelona (29-5) – Fuenlabrada (17-17), Real Madrid (29-5) – Murcia (18-16), Valencia (28-6) – Unicaja Malaga (20-14), Laboral Kutxa (24-10) – Gran Canaria (21-13). Estudiantes and Gipuzkoa are the teams that finished last and are expected to be relegated in the second division. However, because the financial guarantees that a club needs to provide in order to play in Liga Endesa are very high, it’s possible to see them also in the top division next season.
