Despite the recent statement of Andrey Kirilenko about Russian teams not participating in Eurocup, Eurohoops can confirm that Lokomotiv Kuban and Khimki Moscow Region have registered in the competition.

The two clubs have send the proper paperwork and it’s also probably that Zenit St.Petersburg which finished third in the VTB League standings did the same. Lokomotiv Kuban was included in the Eurocup after being part of the recent Euroleague Final Four.

On Friday, Kirilenko as the president of the Russian basketball federation, said that no Russian teams will be part of the Eurocup: “We spoke about the participation in Eurocup with all our clubs in VTB league two months ago. We have explained the impact of such a step. I’m completely confident that no any Russian club will play in Eurocup. Because if they will play, there will be consequences in the national team.”
