Evan Fournier wants to play in the Olympics

After signing his new contract with the Orlando Magic, Evan Fournier addressed the media in a press conference. Among other things, he mentioned that if the French national team qualifies to the Olympic Games, he is ready to join them.

The 23-year old player wasn’t able to join the efforts of France in the qualifier that is currently taking place in Manila, due to the NBA free agency. But now, there’s nothing stopping him from joining his country’s national team. “Yes, if we qualify in the Olympics, I will play”, he said.

Of course, for this to happen, France needs to win the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. “Les Bleus” are playing versus Turkey in the semifinals. A possible victory will bring them face to face with the winner of the clash between Canada and New Zealand.

But Fournier is not the only player who can be available for France in the greatest sports event on the planet. As coach Vincent Collet said, Rudy Gobert will also strengthen “Les Bleus”, given that they get the ticket to Rio.
