Panathinaikos wants Melli, Brose Baskets not eager to sell

Nicolo Melli started the summer as a target of Olympiacos and now the Italian powerforward may end up in Greece for Panathinaikos. However, Brose Baskets at this point doesn’t like the idea of letting him go.

Melli has a 450.000 euros contract for next season with Bamberg, he also had a 300.000 euros buy out, however the deadline for him using this clause expired and the Germans champs are counting on him for next season. Panathinaikos, after missing the chance to sign Claver, turned its focus to the Italian forward, but the Greek club now has to negotiate a buy out from scratch in order to sign him.

And here’s the part where things get tricky. Brose Baskets doesn’t want to lose one of its key players at this point of the summer, because it will be more than difficult to replace him. It remains to be seen how things will play out, with Brose Baskets having at this point the upper hand in any kind of talks.
