No problem for Australia vs China

Andrew Bogut was just a spectator watching the game from the bench. Star players Matthew Dellavedova and Patty Mills spent less than 20 minutes on court each. So what?

Thanks to a highly efficient and dominant second half, Australia made short work of China, winning 93 – 68 and tripling its victories in the Olympic tournament.

The more the game progressed the more the Boomers increased their output, until they scored 28 points in the final quarter against their opponents’ 18.

Cameron Bairstow paced the winners with 17 points plus 9 rebounds and Brock Motum added 15. Ryan Broekhoff and David Andersen dropped 12 points each, while Matthew Dellavedova set his teammates with bucket-making opportunities, dishing 8 assists.

China remained truly competitive only for the first two quarters, being unable to keep up with the Boomers after halftime. Yi Jianlian scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
