Easy one for Australia

Australia did what was expected and beat Venezuela, 81-56, in its last game for the round stage of the Olympic basketball tournament.

With Andrew Bogut back after resting against China and providing a towering presence inside, the Boomers had no problem against their opponents, even if Pat Mills got the night off. Chris Goulding, who came into the game averaging less than a point per contest, poured in a game-high 22.

Australia started the game with 16-2 lead. Venezuela reacted with an 8-0 run and closed the gap to 23-19 but got no closer after that. The Boomers dominated the game and didn’t feel any kind of pressure by Venezuela for which the tournament has ended.
