Luka Mitrovic had to spent the majority of the previous Euroleague season from the sidelines, but watched proudly as his teammates in Crvena Zvezda advanced to the competition’s playoffs.

“That was really a great result that the guys made. Making to the playoffs for the first time in the history of the club. I was cheering and supporting them all the time,” said the captain of Red Star.

Mitrovic came back in time to join his team’s commendable efforts against CSKA Moscow in the Top 8. “We built our name with what we did.But now we must keep our reputation.”

This summer had been nothing less than hard work for him. “I was working out the whole summer, practicing and getting ready. I feel ready and really – really excited for everything that will come.”

What does he think about the new Euroleague format? “More attractive for the fans, but harder for the players. The schedule can be crazy. Generally, it will be a great experience for the team and a big challenge”
