Pablo Laso was given the “Coach Of The Year” award in the Spanish league, right before the tipoff of the game against Murcia, in which the Madrilenians won after a tough battle with 93-86.

Murcia has a 2-2 record after 4 games, while Real has an equal amount of wins after just 3 games in the ACB (due to the fact that the league hosts 17 teams).

For the winning team, Sergio Llull led with 23 points and 5 assists, followed by Doncic’s 13 and Randolph’s 10 points. Murcia fought until the end, with both Campazzo and Benite scoring 19 points.

Last season, Laso led Real Madrid to the top of the ACB league and won the championship, thus it was expected that he would have been chosen for this award.

The short ceremony took place in Real’s homecourt with thousands of fans applauding the coach.
