Khimki prevailed over Lokomotiv in Shved’s debut

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

With the Euroleague teams not having any obligations for VTB this weekend, the game between Khimki and Lokomotiv Kuban was the biggest of them all.

The hosts managed to get the 73-65 win after a big game by Nobel Boungou Colo (21 p.) and Alexey Shved (21 p.) who made his season debute after fully recovering from his ankle injury.

With two minutes left, Lokomotiv trailed by three points (68-65), but Shved’s answer was a bucket, a rebound after a missed shot by  Ryan Broekhoff and 1/2 free throws (71-65) which practically decided the outcome. Ian Vougioukas with 15 points was the top scorer of Lokomotiv.

Unics still leads the league with a 4-0 record, CSKA Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg are at 2-0, Astana and Enisey are tied at 2-2, Khimki is at 1-1, while Lokomotiv Kuban remains without a win (0-2).

The rest of the weekend games are the following

Astana – VEF Riga 66-64 (Odom 22 p.)
Enisey – Nizhny Novgorod 99-93 (Taylor 18 p.)
Tsmoki-Minsk  – Kalev 88 – 81 (Joyce 27 p.)
Avtodor – Zenit 90 – 96 (Karasev 34 p.)
