Brose Bamberg survived in overtime over EA7 Milano

After a real dogfight, Brose Bamberg managed to get the close win over EA7 Emporio Armani Milano in overtime. The final score was 106-102 and Darius Miller with 27 points in total led the Germans to the win.

It was a game decided on details with the guests buiding a 17 points advantage in the first half, which was not enough. Nikos Zisis with 13 points and two free throws sealed the outcome, while Nicolo Melli finished the game with 15 points and 9 rebounds. For the Italians, Rakim Sanders scored 25 points, Alessandro Gentile had 18, Jamel McLean added 17 and Ricky Hickman 15.

Τhanks to the dynamic duo of Gentile and Sanders who had 12 and 10 points respectively in the first half, the guests after having a three points advantage in the first quarter (21-18), thanks to a 22-7 partial score got a 46-29 lead. Brose Bamberg managed to close the second period with a 9-0 run (46-38) but Milano was still in control.

Τhat change in the second half. Thanks to an 11-3 run, Brose Bamberg tied the game at 49 and everything started from the beggining with Melli and Leon Radosevic (14 p.) taking things into their hands. Τhe hosts managed to get a six points advantage (60-54) but the quarter ended with Milano leading again (64-61).

Neither team could impose its will after that and with three minutes left the score was tied again at 77. With back to back threes by Melli and Fabien Causer, the hosts go a 83-77 lead, but Milano once again didn’t lay down. The Italians made it a one point game (87-86) and Zisis with 2/2 free throws gave a three points advantage to Brose Bamberg (89-86) with 13 seconds left on the clock.

McLean was fouled, he made also his two shots (89-88) and then it was Zisis turn again (91-88). The almost last second hero was Hickman who was fouled according to the refs during a three pointer attemp and tied the game (91-91). Zisis missed the last shot and everything was decided in overtime.
