Andrea Trinchieri: “I don’t know what more must my player do to get a call”

Brose Bamberg head coach Andrea Trinchieri was furious with a non-call on Darius Miller that, given otherwise, could have changed the fate of his team in the match against Crvena Zvezda.

The German team was down 79 – 78 in the last possession and Miller tried to attack the basket, only to be stopped by his opponents that ultimately got the victory. Trinchieri believes that the American forward was fouled, a position he also expressed during the press conference, wondering…. why his player didn’t receive the call that would have sent him to the free throw line.

“I stick with my players. I’m proud of how they fought. It was a tough game. We had a shorter rotation and… I don’t know what we have to do more to get a call. What my player must do more in order to get the call.”

“I was lucky to watch the replay now. The truth is that I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what to say. I stick with my guys. I love them for the way they fought against everybody with the problems we have. We deserve a different ending. We have to improve three-four mistakes that were important. But really… I don’t know what to say!”

Regarding the aforementioned mistakes, he explained: “We received a basket in transition. We can’t receive such a basket because we can’t get back. We received two three-pointers by Simonovic where we forgot the game plan. And we made a mistake when we received a lay-up after a baseline inbound pass.”

“Again: I don’t know what to say. What we have to do more than this,” concluded the Italian coach.
