Causeur leads Brose Bamberg to victory against Anadolu Efes

Through a stunning, career high performance by Fabien Causeur, Brose Bamberg could beat Anadolu Efes at home with 91-83. The German team now stands at 4-8 in the standings, while Efes dropped to 6-6.

The French shooting guard finished the game with 28 points, while Darius Miller was also impressive with 17 (plus 7 rebs), Janis Strelnieks had 12 and Nicolo Melli added 11.

For the visitors, Jayson Granger scored 23 points, Derrick Brown had 18, Tyler Honeycutt 17 and Thomas Heurtel 13 (4 assists).

After a competitive beginning in the game, Brose Bamberg showed its hunger for the win against the visitors, with the Causeur show starting early on. After 10 minutes, the hosts were up by just one point, 23-22. In the second period, Andrea Trichieri’s team managed to run a short lead halfway through it and until halftime, going to the lockers with a 7-point advantage, 48-41.

In the second half, Miller sent the deficit to double digits at 25′, with Efes not being able to make a step forward in offense. Even though the partial score was even during the third period at 23 points, Bamberg was still up 71-64. The visitors approached in the final period and Thomas Heurtel dropped the deficit to 3 points, though the hosts kept their composure and were able to prevail in the end.
