Marcus Slaughter out for six more weeks

Darussafaka Dogus center Marcus Slaughter had been sidelined for about three weeks due to a knee injury and it seems that his return to courts will be delayed much further.

As David Blatt said during the press conference after the Turkish league game against Pinar Karsiyaka, the American center’s rehabilitation will take at least six weeks more.

Slaughter and the staff of Darussafaka initially contemplated surgery to solve the issue but they decided to take a more conservative direction. However the knee problem insisted.

When asked about a possible transfer, Blatt said that they are looking for solutions “either from within the team or outside of it.”

Slaughter averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in EuroLeague before his injury but his contribution goes beyond what numbers might tell since he was one of the top defenders of his squad.
