Brose Bamberg officially announced the addition of American combo guard Jerel McNeal with a two-month contract which includes an option to be extended until the end of the season.

MacNeal, 29, spent the previous season playing for Aris Thessaloniki, in Greece. He averaged 144.4 points in 16 Eurocup games plus 14.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the Greek Basket League.

“I’m very happy to be here,” were the player’s first quotes as a Brose Bamberg player. “This is a great opportunity for me. I’m delighted to give the team everything they need from me. What is more important is to be able to help Brose Bamberg quickly.”

Brose Bamberg head coach Andrea Trinchieri said the following on Jerel McNeal: “No one knows what this season may bring. Our main goal is to keep our players healthy and fresh. So we decided to add another player in the roster, one who can help in both the EuroLeague and the German League. I don’t know when he will be able to help us since he hasn’t played in the season so far. But if he’s fit, he’ll definitely give us a hand.”
