Fans will not be returning to the stands for the Final Eight of Basketball Champions League.

The Basketball Champions League Final Eight will ultimately take place in Athens, though all games will be played behind closed doors, as it has been decided Friday.

Earlier in the week, the BCL got in touch with hosts AEK via a letter that was asking for guarantees about the tournament’s initial agreements, which also concerned a final decision about fan attendance.

Despite hopes to see fans returning to the stands, the rise of COVID-19 cases in Athens, and new, stricter measures about public gatherings issued this week, games will be played with empty stands, following all guidelines issued by the health experts.
