Previously in the 2024-25 season, he contributed to Monaco’s outstanding run in the EuroLeague, reaching not only the Final Four but also the Championship Game against Fenerbahce.

However, Alpha Diallo decided not to rest in the summer either, as he’s currently in Angola to help Guinea at FIBA AfroBasket 2025. He began the tournament excellently.

Against the way more favourite South Sudan, Alpha Diallo shone with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, pushing his team to the 88-80 win against the Olympians. Wenyen Gabriel had 6 points.

Moreover, the opening day of Africa’s most prestigious national team competition also featured the crushing 88-53 win by Senegal against Uganda.

Former Baskonia’s Ousmane Ndiaye (12 points and 7 rebounds), Valencia’s Brancou Badio (8 points), and former Virtus Bologna’s Gora Camara (14 points and 13 rebounds) stepped up.

Finally, the hosts Angola and Egypt started the tournament well too, beating respectively Libya (85-53) and Mali (74-59).
