FIBA World Basketball Summit launched in China, sets out to shape the sport’s future

FIBA World Basketball Summit, the first-ever, is a two-day event which is supposed to bring together the most important people in world basketball. That includes the officials and management personnel in federations, clubs and leagues, to business leaders and heads of corporations across areas such as media and technology, brands and corporate social responsibility.

It was officially presented during the press conference in the Hall of Embodied Treasure, within Beijing’s Forbidden City. Amongst the presentation of the Summit’s logo and the Organizing Committee, it was also decided that the first three Summits (2018, 2019 and 2020) will be held in Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province. The first one is scheduled for 3rd of the October, FIBA.basketball announced.

The distinguished guests at the presentation were Frank Leenders (FIBA Media and Marketing Services Director General), Xu Peng (Deputy Director of Shaanxi Provincial Sports Bureau) and Wang Libin (Vice President of the Chinese Basketball Association and President of Shaanxi Basketball Association).
