FIBA U19 World Cup set to kick off

The FIBA U19 World Cup is set to begin on Saturday at Heraklion, Greece. The rosters of all 16 participating National Teams have been confirmed and verified.

Per FIBA: With the 14th edition of the event tipping off on Saturday, June 29 in the Cretan city of Heraklion, all rosters have been trimmed to 12 players.

Group A: Lithuania, New Zealand, Senegal, USA
Group B: Australia, Canada, Latvia, Mali
Group C: Argentina, Greece, Philippines, Russia
Group D: China, France, Puerto Rico, Serbia

Group Phase action will take place on June 29-July 2, with each team playing against all other teams in its own group. All teams will qualify for the Final Phase, as Group A crosses with Group B and Group C crosses with Group D in the Round of 16 on July 3.

The Final Phase of the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2019 will also take in Heraklion, with the world champions crowned on Sunday, July 7.

Having conquered the crown in Egypt two years ago, defending champions Canada will be looking to become only the second team in the history of the competition to win back-to-back titles, with the United States of America accomplishing the feat twice.
