Fifteen candidates attained the status of a FIBA licensed agent, the world governing body for basketball announced on Friday. They officially took on their adopted roles in a ceremony at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball, at Mies, Switzerland.

Per FIBA: “The Patrick Baumann House of Basketball has witnessed its latest batch of applicants making the grade as newly qualified FIBA licensed agents.

In what was the last class of 2019, a total of 15 candidates passed the requirements in the last sitting of the calendar year in Mies.

As usual, it was an eclectic mix of participants, with 14 different nationalities represented -including many who have already had a career in the sport in various different roles.

This latest crop included three former coaches, as well as six former players, with Stepan Reinberger of the Czech Republic one of those and willing to explain how the license will now help him to take the next step.

“I am already involved in sports business, but I decided that during this next year, I will start player agent activity because all of my life I have been involved in basketball,” stated Reinberger.

“I played in the top division of the Czech Republic and I know the basketball environment, the problems that professional basketball players face.

“I now also have that experience in sport business, including sales, contracts and marketing. That is why I decided I can be successful as an agent.

“The main plan is to help to develop young players and to get them on some level – the highest as possible and to find some new for the world level of basketball,” he concluded.”
