A stunning display by Brazil for a key win over the USA in Washington.

Former NBA forward Bruno Caboclo dropped a game-high 24 points banking in 9/13 field goals in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers affair held Friday evening. Georginho chipped in 18 more points. Experienced guard Vitor Benite had 11 points.

The team coached by Jim Boylen, consisting of free agents and G League players, never led and instead fell into a 25-point hole. Looking for a comeback, the reaction after the break reduced the deficit to single digits but Brazil restored a comfortable lead.

Langston Galloway tallied a team-high 14 points in the losing effort. Charlie Brown Jr. and Alize Johnson put in ten points apiece.

Canada was the first team to clinch a berth in the World Cup out of the Americas. Finland, Germany, and Latvia have qualified through Europe. The remaining confirmed entries are Australia, China, Ivory Coast, Lebanon, and New Zealand alongside Japan and the Philippines, which directly qualified as two of three hosting countries.
