One of the most anticipated players of the 2023 FIBA World Cup will represent the Philippines in Manila, one of the three cities with Okinawa and Jakarta that will host the competition. It’s Jordan Clarkson, who started to play for his family-origins country.

“Playing for your country means a lot. Just being able to represent it, go out there and compete … just to see the love. In the Philippines, basketball is the number one thing. Just being able to have all those teams, and countries come. I’ll be in the host city. Hosts in the World Cup. It’s going to be an amazing experience, people seeing the country, being able to experience that”, Clarkson said in an interview with FIBA.

After averaging 25 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in the two games against Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in the Asian Qualifiers, the current Utah Jazz player is ready to jump into the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

“Seeing the love people have for basketball there. I wouldn’t be surprised if every game is sold out. It’s going to be really loud there and everybody is going to feel that love and support when you walk around the city while playing games”, the 30-year-old guard said.
