According to Shams Charania from Athletic, confirmed by the Eurohoops sources, the Greek national team could suffer a big blow for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup, with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s presence being uncertain.

Milwaukee Buck’s star underwent a cleanup procedure on his knee two weeks ago, but per Eurohoops sources, he will try his best to make it to the World Cup.

At this point, the problem is having the right time to rehabilitate, as per the FIBA-NBA agreement, if he is not fit, he can’t take any chances.

The two-time NBA MVP played for Greece at the EuroBasket last summer but couldn’t help the Dimitris Itoudis’ team past the quarterfinals.

Giannis also represented Greece at the 2019 and 2014 World Cup and 2015 EuroBasket.

The 28-year-old NBA superstar averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 63 games this season in the Bucks but got eliminated in the first round of the Playoffs by eight-seeded Miami Heat.
