Lithuania beat Latvia ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup

In the last friendly game for both national teams, Lithuania got an impressive 93-69 win against Latvia to close up the tournament in Taiwan which also included Puerto Rico.

The Lithuanian national team dominated the encounter from the beginning, closing the first half up by 35 points (61-26). They were led by team captain Jonas Valanciunas, who ended with 16 points and 6 rebounds, and Donatas Motiejunas, who had 13 points and 7 rebounds. Deividas Sirvydis added 15 points.

On the losing side, the Latvian national team – which won’t have Kristaps Porzingis on board for its first-ever FIBA World Cup appearance – got an impressive losing effort from Anžejus Pasečnikas, who ended with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Before this encounter, both Lithuania and Latvia got their victories against Puerto Rico, respectively 93-80 and 84-72. Lithuania will face Montenegro, Egypt, and Mexico in Manila’s Group D, while Latvia will play in Jakarta against France, Canada, and Lebanon in Group H.
