Before the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket, Thomas Satoransky had considered the possibility of retiring from the Czech national team after the tournament. However, an injury prevented him from playing and he promised he will return.

Experienced point guard has therefore continued to wear the Czech jersey with pride, highly motivated to help his team reach another major competition — this time, the 2027 FIBA World Cup.

After the first two games, Satoransky and Czechia are on track for Qatar, securing wins over Sweden and Estonia. The Barcelona guard played a pivotal role in both victories.

Following a 16-point, six-assist performance against Sweden, Satoransky stepped up in Tallinn, leading his side to a valuable 97–92 road win over Estonia with a spectacular double-double: 18 points and 16 assists.

He shot an incredible 7/9 from the field, dunked in transition, grabbed four rebounds, and added three steals for a PIR of 35. His 16 assists broke the previous World Cup Qualifiers record of 15, set just days earlier by Ludde Hakanson in Round 1.

Satoransky now returns to Barcelona with a smile, ready to continue his EuroLeague campaign with the Catalan side in Round 14 against Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade next Friday.
