The senior national team of Greece is entering the final stretch of the current phase of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers. Leading Group B with a strong 3–1 record, the squad stands on the verge of advancing to the second round in Group I. During that upcoming stage, the top three out of six nations will clinch a coveted berth in the final tournament next summer in Qatar.
Head coach Vassilis Spanoulis has selected a 15-player roster for the training camp, with athletes assembling gradually between Tuesday and Thursday, following the official announcement by the Hellenic Basketball Federation on Saturday.
The FIBA window features a crucial double-header in early July, beginning with a road game against Romania in Oradea on July 2nd before hosting Portugal at the Sunel Arena on July 5th. These matchups remain vital because all opening-round results carry over to the next phase. Securing two victories will significantly improve the W-L tally of Greece before they embark on a grueling six-game schedule when Group I action tips off in late August.
