USA Basketball officially announced its 12-man roster for the upcoming 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifying window, with Mike James among the players selected for the July games against the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The veteran guard, who will represent USA Basketball for the first time, was included in the squad that will travel to Santo Domingo on July 3 before facing Mexico on July 6.
James is one of six players making their USA Basketball debut, alongside Jacob Gilyard, Kevon Harris, Orlando Robinson, Jarrod Uthoff and Gabe York. The roster also features Jay Huff, Matt Ryan, Terry Taylor, Dewan Hernandez, Pedro Bradshaw and Elijah Pemberton.
Former NBA head coach Stephen Silas will once again lead the team after previously guiding the United States during recent World Cup qualifying windows and the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup.
The Americans enter the July window with a 3-1 record and are tied atop Group A with the Dominican Republic. The current qualifying campaign will continue through March 2027, with seven teams from the Americas securing spots at the FIBA World Cup in Qatar.
