The approaching FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers are set to feature action across all four continental qualifying zones, and Team USA is reinforcing its roster with elite EuroLeague experience.
Preparing for a fresh six-game schedule in the final qualifying stage on the road to next summer’s tournament in Qatar, the program has released an expanded 23-player preliminary list that heavily emphasizes international pedigree alongside domestic depth.
Anadolu Efes playmaker Mike James is on the initial roster, boasting his first two caps from earlier in the ongoing Americas Qualifiers. The seasoned guard is poised to bounce back and provide vital offensive leadership. Joining him in the spotlight is Dubai forward and former AS Monaco teammate, Jaron Blossomgame, who earns a spot on the initial pool and stands as a prime candidate to make his official debut with the senior national squad.
To round out the roster alongside these EuroLeague standouts, USA Basketball has constructed a versatile group featuring athletes based across Europe and Asia, free agents, and G League standouts.
The remainder of the selection consists of Jordan Bell, Pedro Bradshaw, Garrison Brooks, Darius Brown II, Kevon Harris, Dewan Hernandez, Malcolm Hill, Nate Hinton, DeJon Jarreau, Dillon Jones, Brandon Knight, Nassir Little, Xavier Moon, James Nunnally, Elfrid Payton Jr., Orlando Robinson II, Jaden Shackelford, Tyler Smith, Terry Taylor, Jeremiah Tilmon, and Gabe York.
Management will trim this lineup shortly before traveling to face Chile in Santiago on August 27, followed by a matchup against Colombia in Washington, D.C. on August 31, as they look to firmly clinch a World Cup berth.
Currently sitting second in Group E with a strong 5–1 record, the United States hold a comfortable two-game cushion above the elimination zone.
