Gigi Datome checked himself in for the September FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, as he told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“I will play, I have talked with coach Meo Sacchetti”, Datome tells the Italian media.
Datome comes off from another strenuous season, hence he wasn’t in position to join the team in June, though now he’s ready to help Italy make a step forward in September.
“I thank him because he understood that my absence in June was not a whim, but the need to rest after a long season where I have played more than 100 games. Now I am good and very happy to wear Italy’s National Team jersey again”.
