Slobodan Subotic is the new head coach of Lebanese national team

Slovenian coach Slobodan Subotic signed a contract with the Lebanese national team taking the head coach job and will try to help the team qualify for the 2019 FIBA Wolrd Cup Championship, his agency confirmed.

Subotic has been at the head of both clubs and national teams so far. He spent a lot of time in Greece – also possesses Greek citizenship – leading Iraklis, AEK, Aris, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos while he has also been having some experience in Lebanon with Al Riyadi in the Lebanese Basketball League.

As a head coach, he won the Greek League championship twice (1998, 1999), the Greek Cup in 2002, the FIBA Korać Cup in 1997, and the Lebanese League championship in 2014 and 2015. He extended his contract with Al Riyadi for three more years in 2015.

He was also a part of the Slovenian national team both as an assistant (1999) and a head coach (2001-2003).
