France overpowers Montenegro

France began its preparation games ahead of Round 2 of the World Cup Qualifiers with an 83 – 66 over Montenegro. It was the first game for “Les Bleus” in the post-Boris Diaw era since the longtime captain of the French national team announced his retirement Thursday (7/9).

Jonathan Rouselle scored 12, Moustapha Fall 11 while Edwin Jackson and Paul Lacombe had 10 points apiece for France. Nicolas Batum scored seven points, all of them in the first six minutes of the game.

Petar Popovic (16 points) and Aleksa Popovic(15 points) stood out for Montenegro that was without Bojan Dubljevic and Milko Bjelica.
