Adam Silver supports FIBA Windows, even if most NBA players can’t compete

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann took the time to talk about the national teams and how the implementation of FIBA Windows influences worldwide basketball.

Both of them agree that national teams are of high importance for the popularity and growth of basketball as watching their country playing influences young players the most and exactly that is the goal of FIBA Windows. To be a sort of a ‘click’ for increasing the popularity of basketball, as Baumann explained.

Silver agrees with the above statements while also adding that “it allows for the next generation of players to get exposure” and notes that a lot of players from G-League are getting a chance under the USA national team coach Jeff Van Gundy that they otherwise wouldn’t.
