Stefan Jovic, Vladimir Lucic and Vasilije Micic weren’t in Sasha Djordjevic‘s 16-man list ahead of Serbia’s two next European qualifiers for the FIBA World Cup, but will aid their National Team against Greece. The three EuroLeague players won’t be in action in Tel Aviv for the match with Israel on November 30th, but will be in Belgrade and play in the Round 10 game against the Greeks on December 3rd.

“We talked with the players’ teams. Jovic and Lucic will be in Israel, but will not help us one day after FC Bayern Munich game with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. However, they will travel with us to Belgrade and play on Monday. Anadolu Efes permitted Micic to also be on our team. We are grateful to the clubs that allowed their players to help us” Djordjevic said to Serb media.

The Serbs are at third place of Group L of the European qualification zone with five wins in their first eight games. They do need some results in their upcoming matches to seal a ticket to the World Cup, which will take place in China next summer.
