Following the report from La Opinion de Malaga on the severity of Dragan Milosavljevic’s injury, the Serbian Basketball Federation confirmed via press release that the 30-year-old guard will need surgery ruling him out from the World Cup.

“He suffered a knee ligament injury and will need surgery” Dragan Radovanovic, the Serbian national team’s doctor mentioned and added: “Unfortunately, Milosavljevic will not be able to compete in the World Cup.”

Stefan Bircevic, Nemanja Bjelica, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Marko Guduric, Nikola Jokic, Stefan Jovic, Vladimir Lucic, Boban Marjanovic, Vasilije Micic, Nikola Milutinov, Miroslav Raduljica and Marko Simonovic are the 12 players currently available and presumably the members of Serbia’s final World Cup squad.

Milosavljevic is the latest player ruled out from the World Cup due to injury. Surgery on his left knee will likely force him to miss all of the 2019-20 campaign with Unicaja Malaga as well.
