France cruises past Jordan and to the Second Round

France didn’t have much trouble against Jordan keeping the game under control for forthy minutes and logging a convincing 103-64 win.

France and the Dominican Republic advanced to the FIBA World Cup Second Round and will play each other for the first place in Group G.

Nando De Colo led the winning side with 19 points and eight assists while Rudy Gobert notched a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Evan Fournier added 13 points.

“It was a good game for us, we stayed focused and we did a good job”, said Gobert. “We tried to use that game in order to get better as a team”.

Dar Tucker scored 20 points for Jordan while Zaid Abbas helped with 12 points and seven rebounds in addition to Freddy Ibrahim’s nine points.

France was ahead 25-14 early on and although Jordan cut the gap to two points (33-31), it was only for a moment as France made a furious 17-2 run until halftime (50-33).

They didn’t let go after the break and continued increasing the lead. France was up 78-50 after the third quarter and safely closed the game.
