Argentina climbed to the top of Group I and will move to the quarterfinals undefeated, after prevailing over Poland (that also advanced) with a 91-65 victory.

Luis Scola showed off his excellency for one more game, leading his team with 21 points, six rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes on the court.

Sergio Hernandez’s squad set the foundations for the win early on in the game and led 42-17 at halftime, with an incredible effort on the defensive end.

Nothing much changed in the second half, as the deficit kept rising (and even reached the 31-point mark), as the Argentinean squad marched into the quarterfinals with a perfect 5-0.

Despite their first loss in the tournament, Poland, who had A.J. Slaughter scoring 16 points tonight, will also follow in the best eight teams of this FIBA World Cup edition and will face the winner of Serbia-Spain.

“For us, it’s another opportunity to go out and compete with teams like these. Tonight wasn’t an example of that and we think we can play better. Hopefully, that’s what we’re going to do on Tuesday”, commented Slaughter.
