Lebron on Team USA’s seventh place in World Cup: The rest of the world is better

Los Angeles superstar Lebron James commented on Team USA finishing at an all-time low seventh spot in the 2019 FIBA World Cup by expressing his opinion that the competition the squad faces has quite improved in comparison with the past.

“The rest of the world is better,” James said per USA Today. “But we continue to get better as well as Americans.”

James was among the numerous NBA stars that were absent from the trip to China. With the goal for Team USA being to seriously bounce back to the top in the upcoming Olympic Games, James mentioned that he would love to be in Tokyo.

“I would like to stay healthy as well, that’s most important. I was not happy about how we did this summer. I think we are all a brotherhood and I know the guys that were there played extremely hard and played extremely hard together. They just fell a little bit short of what the expectations are. I applaud those guys. I didn’t say anything while they were playing, but I applaud every individual that was on that team and the coaching staff. It is not what we are accustomed to. We’ll see how we do throughout the season and I will address that at some point.”
